In a time that predates all historical records of the multiverse, an arcane working was scrawled into the foundation of the cosmos—wherever sufficient numbers of magical creatures and artifacts commingled with a particularly dense knot of the Tapestry, dungeonborn would arise. With the purpose of their creation long since lost to time, and a method of procreation often resulting in isolation from others of their kind, dungeonborn are an idiosyncratic people. Though dungeonborn share few commonalities as a species, each bears physical and mystical features influenced by the unique mystical ecology of their site of creation.
Dungeonborn are sometimes mistaken for stone golems as they have rocky exteriors that match the prevailing materials of the location they formed in. Breaking up through, or visible beneath, cracks in this exterior, are the features of magical creatures—the bobbing antennae of rust monsters, the wide toothy grin of bulettes, or ooze dribbling out the seams of their stone brick hide. Though so much of a dungeonborn’s identity is bound up in the region of their creation, many feel a pull to wander the worlds of the multiverse and explore their diverse geomantic underpinnings.
Fantasy Folk: Dungeonborn features a new species, Dungeonborn, along with three feats, six spells, and two subclasses (Snare Setter for Ranger and Dungeon Master Patron for Warlock).
